How to read the idea back office dashboard ?
Who can see the “Ideas” dashboard in the back office?
Devs & Admins can access ideas in the back office.
Where can I find the “Ideas” dashboard in the back office?
You can view the “Ideas” dashboard from the “Ideas” page in the back office.
To find the “Ideas” page, navigate to the back office. Once at the back office, select the desired Studio from the “Manage” menu on the left-hand side. This opens a dropdown that lists all of the Studio’s Universes. Click on the desired Universe. If the Ideas feature is enabled, you will see “Ideas” in the Universe’s dropdown. Click to view the “Ideas” page. You will now see that Universe’s “Ideas” dashboard.
Note: Each Universe with the “Ideas” feature enabled has its own “Ideas” dashboard. This means your back office can have multiple “Ideas” dashboards.
How do I read the “Ideas” dashboard?
At the top of the “Ideas” dashboard is a section that summarizes idea statuses. Each block in this section lists the number of ideas with a given status and notes whether there have been any updates in the past week. If no ideas have been assigned that status in the past seven days, the block will read “Nothing This Week.” Otherwise, it will list the number of ideas assigned that status in the past week.
Blocks summarizing idea statuses are highlighted in dark blue.
The section includes:
The “Total Ideas” block, which lists the total number of ideas submitted to that Universe. Clicking on this block will take you to the “All Ideas” tab in the back office.
The “Open” block, which lists the number of ideas in that Universe without an assigned status. Clicking on this block will take you to the “All Ideas” tab filtered for the status “Open."
The “Not Reviewed” block, which lists the number of ideas in that Universe that haven’t been reviewed yet. Clicking on this block will take you to the “All Ideas” tab listing unreviewed ideas.
The “Implemented” block, which lists the number of ideas in that Universe that have been assigned the status “Implemented.” Clicking the block will take you to the “All Ideas” tab filtered for the status “Implemented.”
The “Must Have” block, which lists the number of ideas in the Universe that have been assigned the status “Must Have.” Clicking the block will take you to the “All Ideas” tab filtered for the status “Must Have.”
The “Nice to Have” block, which lists the number of ideas in the Universe that have been assigned the status “Nice to Have.” Clicking the block will take you to the “All Ideas” tab filtered for the status “Nice to Have.”
“Idea Insights” graph
The middle segment includes one large block and two small blocks. The large block is a graph of “Idea Insights.”
The “Ideas Insight” graph is highlighted in dark blue. The date pickers to adjust the graph’s timeframe are highlighted in light yellow.
The “Ideas Insight” block shows a multiple line graph tracking three pieces of data over time:
“Creation” tracks the number of ideas submitted by users.
“View” tracks the number of instances where users have viewed any idea.
“Upvote” tracks the number of times users have upvoted any idea.
The graph’s timeframe can be changed by using the “Start Date” and “End Date” date pickers above the graph.
Idea “Mosts” and “Unreviewed Ideas”
The two small blocks are a block with dropdown options for idea superlatives, like “Most” and “Latest,” and a block listing unreviewed ideas.
The “Most/Latest” block is highlighted in dark blue. The “Unreviewed Ideas” block is highlighted in light yellow.
The “Unreviewed Ideas” block lists several recent unreviewed ideas. Click on an idea’s title to see the idea’s back office summary page. At the bottom of the block is a “More” button. If there are more unreviewed ideas than fit in the block, you can click “More” to see additional unreviewed ideas.
The second small block displays a list of “Most Commented Ideas since Last Month” by default. The dropdown on the left has two options: “Most” and “Latest.”
If you select “Latest” from the leftmost dropdown, the block will display “Latest Created Ideas.” The other dropdowns will disappear and the block will display a list of ideas. Each idea title links to the idea’s front-end page. Clicking on an idea title will take you out of the back office.
If you select “Most” from the leftmost dropdown, the block will display a descending list based on the center dropdown. Using the center dropdown, you can choose to display “Most Commented” ideas, “Most Viewed” ideas, or “Most Upvoted” ideas.
You can also change the timeframe. Click the rightmost dropdown. You can select “All times,” “Yesterday,” “Last Week,” “Last Month,” or “Last Year.”
Clicking on any idea title in any list displayed in this block will take you to the idea’s front-end page.
“Last Comments” and “Latest Reviews”
At the bottom of the dashboard are two large blocks: “Last Comments List” and “Latest Reviews.”
The “Last Comments List” block displays the most recent comments on any idea in that Universe. The “Latest Reviews” block displays the most recent reviews submitted by Game Designers. Clicking on a comment or review will take you to that idea’s front-end page.
Note: You can click and drag to customize the “Ideas” dashboard. Any blocks of the same size can be swapped.
