What are blocked terms?
Blocked terms are part of Games2gether’s proactive moderation. They help the platform judge whether or not a post is spam. Admins and Devs can customize blocked terms in the back office.
Each blocked term is weighted and contributes to a post’s “Spamming score.” A weight between 10 and 100 can be assigned to each term. If a post’s Spamming score is over 100, it will not be published. Instead, the user will see an error message and have the chance to edit their post.
An error message below a post suspected of being spam.
Each user has a Trust Score that also contributes to a post’s Spamming score. As a result, some users will be able to post certain blocked terms more easily than others. Users who have not been on the platform long or who have violated the Code of Conduct will have higher Trust Scores and less flexibility in what they post.
Note: Higher Trust Scores represent a lower platform reputation.
For example, if the word “jackpot” has a score of 20, a user with a two-day old account would not be able to post any text with that word. However, a user who had been on the platform for several months would be able to post up to four instances of the word “jackpot” in a single post. A fifth instance would reach the threshold and not be posted.
