What is a "badge" ?
A badge represents a user’s activity on Games2gether and their dedication to the community. Badges are linked to specific activities on the site, such as creating a thread, or offsite activity, such as unlocking an achievement on Steam. Users can showcase the badges they’ve earned below their username and on their profile.
Badges are shown beneath a user’s avatar when they post in the forums.
The badges are outlined here in purple.
Earning a badge (usually) grants a user a certain number of G2G points. Badges can be a one-off achievement, or they may be ranked. A ranked badge is made up of a series of related tiers. For example, you might earn a “basic” badge by unlocking one avatar, which will rank up to “bronze” when you unlock five avatars.
Users can see which badges they’ve earned on their profile.
Clicking on a badge shows which ranks have been unlocked.
Earning a badge can unlock avatars and/or titles. So a user who keeps participating has the chance to earn rarer and rarer badges, avatars, and titles to customize their profile.
Note: Completing a badge quest doesn’t just unlock badge ranks, titles, and avatars – it may also unlock custom rewards!
Users can find which badges they’ve unlocked and what they might work towards on their profile.
Devs and Admins can create badges in the back office. These can be visible to all users or hidden, and may be ranked and/or time limited.
Badges can be manually assigned to users in the back office. This can be useful to grant rare or unique badges that cannot be earned through participation on the site, such as being a company employee. Badges can also be granted to multiple users at once using the “batch unlock” function.
