What is the rate limiter ?

The rate limiter is one of G2G’s proactive moderation tools. It aims to prevent spam content from bots by preventing users from posting multiples of the same content type in a short period of time. For example, if a user creates an idea, they will not be able to create a new idea two minutes later. This restriction also slows human users using copy-paste spam content.

The delay between posts can be customized depending on the content type. A conversational content type, such as posts in a thread, can be configured to have a significantly shorter delay than a content type where you anticipate more thought and explanation, like an idea.
