How to add a review to an idea
Who can review an idea?
Admins and Devs can search for and review ideas in the back office.
Where do I add a review to an idea?
You can find the “Ideas” feature in the back office “Manage” menu. Expand the menu of the relevant Studio and Universe, then click “Ideas.”
The Universe dropdown is highlighted in purple.
The “Ideas” feature link is highlighted in yellow.
There is a horizontal list of tabs below the header on the “Ideas” page. You can browse recent unreviewed ideas under the “Dashboard” tab. Click the “All Ideas” tab to search for an idea. Click an idea’s title to go to the idea details page.
You can also access an idea in the back office through the front end. Unreviewed ideas on the “Ideas” homepage and the “Browse Ideas” page will have an “Add Review” button. Click “Add Review” to be taken to that idea in the back office.
Idea cards on the “Browse Ideas” page are shown above. The button highlighted in purple directs to that idea’s back office page.
You can also access an idea in the back end from the front-end idea details page by clicking “Open on Admin” to the left of the “Actions” toolbar.
How do I review an idea?
There are four tabs below the header on a back office idea page.
Click on the “Review” tab. You will see a collection of buttons each labeled with a status. Click on the status that reflects where the idea is in the pipeline.
The “Review” tab is highlighted above in purple.
The review status options are highlighted in yellow.
You can then include a comment using the text editor. This is not required, but it is recommended. Both the status and comment will be visible to users on the front end.
The text window used to add a review comment is highlighted in purple above.
The “Publish” button is outlined in yellow.
Click the “Publish” button below the text editor to post your review to the front end.
The review will also be visible on the back office idea page under the “Summary” tab.
The “Summary” tab is pictured above. The most recent review is highlighted in purple.
The “Review” tab, where the review can be updated, is highlighted in yellow.
You can update a review by repeating the process described above. We recommend updating the review whenever an idea’s status changes.
What do reviews look like on the front end?
Reviews are displayed two places on the front end: idea cards and idea details pages.
Idea cards are found on the “Ideas” homepage and the “Browse Ideas” page. An idea card shows the author, title, upvotes, followers, and comments. If the idea has not been reviewed, Admins and Devs will also see a button to add a review. If the idea has been reviewed, the idea card also displays the review status and review comment.
An idea card is pictured above. The review comment is highlighted in purple. The review status is highlighted in yellow.
Clicking on an idea card takes you to that idea’s details page. The most recent review is below the idea description. You can update the review by clicking the “Open on Admin” link to the right of the idea title.
On the idea details page shown above, the most recent review is highlighted in purple. The link to the back office is highlighted in yellow.
Previous reviews can be found chronologically in the comments thread below the idea description.
